Anne went to Linden Primary school in Evington and then All Saints Primary in Wigston.

Her secondary schools were Abingdon and Guthlaxton, both in Wigston.

Post 16, she enrolled in a secretarial course at Loughborough College, traveling every day from Broughton Astley, Leicestershire, to Loughborough using the historical Great Central Railway line.
